Jazz Sounds are dedicated
to providing top-class accessible jazz. Whether playing
with amplification or purely acoustically, we deliver a
professional performance of high-quality background
music, creating the perfect ambiance for your party,
wedding or function.
Our repertoire will depend
on your requirements be it: beautiful arrangements of
Great American Songbook Standards (Gershwin, Cole
Porter, Jerome Kern etc) straight ahead Modern Jazz
Latin Jazz Blues
Requests are always
welcome.
Jazz Sounds are ideally
suited for any of the following occasions: Weddings,
Corporate Events & Launches, Parties & Anniversaries,
Piano Bars & Hotels, Barmitzvahs, Receptions &
Functions.
We can expand our basic
line-up to include vocals, drums (highly recommended for
dancing), saxophone, guitar and so on, to suit your
specific requirements.
Drawing from a pool of
some of London's very finest jazz musicians, bandleaders
Tony Hawkins (trumpet) and Simon Lasky (piano) formed
Jazz Sounds in 1999. These working musicians regularly
play their trade in some of London's top jazz venues,
including Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express Jazz Club in
Soho, and the 606 Club. They pride themselves on their
reliability, versatility and professionalism.
We have played for loads
of lovely people, some celebrities, royalty, politicians
and millionaires. These include:- Helena Bonham-Carter,
Earl Spencer, Sir Trevor McDonald ,Mohamed Al Fahed, Des
Lynham, George Melly, Jack Straw, David Blunkett.
We have also performed in
some very splendid venues. These include:
Claridges, The Savoy HMS
Belfast,The Waldorf Le Meridian, Piccadilly Pendennis,
Castle Blue Bird Club, Harrods, Cliveden.
