Live music performed to this standard
just can’t be beaten for creating an electric atmosphere at your
event! The Swing Set comprises some of London's most in-demand young
jazz musicians, all of whom have a background in either London West
End shows, The Guildhall School of Music, The Royal Academy Of Music
or the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Credits of the musicians include
performances with big names such as Lionel Ritchie, Alison Moyet,
Katie Melua, Jamie Cullum, Gerard Presencer, John Dankworth, Cleo
Laine and Charlotte Church.
Venues played at by the musicians
include The Royal Albert Hall, Lyric Theatre Hammersmith, 606 Club,
Vortex Jazz Club, Café De Paris, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Mezzo
Soho, Dover Street Wine Bar and the Montreaux Jazz Festival. West
End shows area also a regular feature of the band members including
Les Miserables, Grease, Fame and The Lion King to name but a few.
All of the tunes performed by The Swing Set are professionally
arranged for the band to give the unmistakeable sound of a big band
with a band half the size. The optimum line-up comprises piano,
bass, drums, trumpet, trombone, alto & tenor saxophones and one of
the finest male jazz vocalists on the scene today.
The band can be scaled down for
smaller events and perform with 2 or even no horns, and female
vocals and guitar are recommended optional extras. Whatever line-up
you choose, the band will have you swinging all night! Stylish,
versatile and exceptionally talented musicians mean that if you
don’t require a swing band you can still have excellent background
music for your event.
Any size of smaller jazz ensemble can
also be provided. Solo piano; guitar & vocal duet; piano, bass &
drums trio; sax quartet – you name it and they can do it. Why not
have a smaller jazz combo for the early part of your event and then
round the evening off with the full swing band. That’s one evening
your guests won’t forget!
