 Formed
in 1993 they have performed well over a thousand dates
and specialise in weddings, parties and corporate
functions. In 2005 alone they played 52 weddings and 168
other gigs.
They are all in their
twenties and pride themselves in combining accomplished
musicianship and youthful enthusiasm on stage with a
level of professionalism and attention to detail off
stage that belies their tender years.
They play a wide range of music, from 50's jazz to 90's pop. They have a good
selection of ballads and
background music but their strength lies in creating a
party atmosphere and getting people dancing. The band
play recorded music in their breaks and are quite happy
to learn songs specifically for your function, but with
a repertoire of over 350 tunes it's not too often that
they have to do any work for that.
The Top Hat Band can be dressed as smartly as required;
from casual to black tie. They have a state of the art
sound and lighting
system and
can provide staging if
required.
Previous clients include: Lotus Cars (50th Anniversary
party), the BBC, Tesco, News International, and have
performed for the Queen at the TS2k celebrations.
The top hat band usually travels as a
four piece. However, you can add extra members to the band. You
might want a female singer, if you’re a fan of all those great Abba
tunes like Dancing Queen and Waterloo. Or perhaps you’d like some
Blues Brothers songs, or tunes by The Commitments, in which case
think about a saxophone player.

can be tailored to suit them. We can also provide a full blown disco
set up with intelligent lights, smoke and bubble machines, London
club DJs and the widest range of tunes to chose from.
We have musicians to suit every occasion. Our jazz band is a great
idea for an afternoon drinks reception, or maybe at a wedding
breakfast. They can be anything from a simple duo right up to a full
seven piece line up of vocals, piano, guitar, saxophone, trumpet,
bass and drums. And you can keep the jazzy theme going throughout
the evening with some up-tempo Frank Sinatra style swing tunes to
keep people on the dance floor.
