Emma
Dennis was born in Neath, South Wales. She is a graduate of the
Royal Academy of Music, after winning sponsorship from Channel 4
Wales and an Academy Bursary, and also the Royal Welsh College of
Music and Drama, having won the Sir Geraint Evans Scholarship,
graduating with distinction.
Other awards won include the ‘Della
Windsor Memorial Award’ for ‘Most Promising Singer’, the ‘Daniel
Davies’ Award, the ‘Laura Ashley Foundation Award’, the Morriston
Orpheus Choir Subscriber’s Association Award ‘MOCSA’ for ‘Best Young
Singer of the Year’ and the prestigious Silver Medal from the
Worshipful Company of Musicians.
She recently represented Wales in the
Middle East in the ‘Wales World Nation’ exhibition at Wafi City
Dubai, which culminated in a cabaret performance at ‘The Pyramids’.
Emma's Operatic performances include ‘Adina’ L’elisir d’amore,
‘Marenka’ The Bartered Bride, ‘Lucy Lockit’ The Beggar’s Opera, and
‘Pamina’ The Magic Flute as part of the Cardiff Festival. ‘Ellen
Orford’ Peter Grimes, ‘Susanna’ Le Nozze di Figaro, the title role
in ‘Manon’ (Massenet), ‘Anezka’ The Two Widows, ‘Fedra’ Egisto,
‘Frau Fluth’ Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor and ‘A Lover’/‘Voce di
Sopranino’ Il Tabarro with the CBSO at the Birmingham Symphony Hall
conducted by Mark Elder.
Yorkshire born Steven Goulden studied
at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with renowned
international tenor John Mitchinson and Gerald Wragg. While studying
Steven won the Dolan Evans Memorial Award for Most Promising Male
Singer in his first year, Laura Ashley Foundation Award, Heber-Percy
Scholarship, BT scholarship, William Appleby Prize and a Royal Welsh
College of Music and Drama Bursary. He continued his studies at
postgraduate level, graduating with distinction. Steven’s operatic
roles include: Luigi’ Il tabarro, ‘Nemorino’ L’elisir d’amore,
‘Captain Macheath’ The Beggars Opera, (Britten’s Realisation), the
title role in ‘Peter Grimes’, ‘Tamino’ The Magic Flute and ‘Vasêk’
The Bartered Bride.
Emma and
Steven travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally to
venues such as the Wigmore Hall, the Royal Festival Hall in London,
St. David’s Hall in Cardiff, the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea and the
Birmingham Symphony Hall and have sung under the baton of some of
the worlds finest conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Mark Elder,
Steuart Bedford, John Lubbock and John Pryce-Jones.
Amore! perform throughout the UK
always to great acclaim and have recently returned from the
Seychelles where they entertained guests onboard a luxury cruise
liner on the Indian Ocean.
Their extensive repertoire covers West
End and Broadway Musicals, Popular Opera & Operetta, Classical
Songs, Wedding Favourites and Christmas Classics.
