 Cristyn
began learning to play the harp in Wales at the age of seven, and
went on to attend the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama for her
BMus degree studies, with Meinir Heulyn. After graduating she was
awarded a scholarship to study for her Masters degree at Trinity
College of Music in London, with Imogen Barford and Gabriella
Dall’Olio. She has also received private tuition in France from Mdme.
Elisabeth Fontan-Binoche.
Cristyn is now based in London, but travels all over the UK to play
at concerts, weddings, corporate events and other functions.
Cristyn has received the following prizes:
Winner: Rotary Young Musician of the Year (R.C.T) 1999
Winner: Bristol Eisteddfod Solo Harp Competition 2000
Cristyn has played the harp at such prestigious venues as the House
of Lords at Westminster Palace, The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff,
Cardiff Castle, The IOD Headquarters on Pall Mall and numerous
hotels including Sofitel St James, Piccadilly, Cardiff Hilton,
Egerton Grey, and many more.
For weddings Cristyn plays at ceremonies and receptions, and caters
for personal choices concerning programming. She has an extremely
varied programme on offer, including folk, celtic and traditional
music, popular classics and operatic arias, concert repertoire, and
popular/jazz.
