"Banish all
previous conceptions of a string quartet from your mind - Status
Cymbal are definitely different. They gave us a brilliant classical
first half programme then a fun packed romp through the 20th Century
in the second half. It was a pleasure having them with us and their
performance was thoroughly enjoyed by our audience of over 800
members".
Cindy Hardy Clacton & North East Essex Arts &
Literary Society – November 2005
"These four
fine musicians surprised some, I am sure, with their choice of
material, steering clear of the usual classical repertoire and
picking movie themes, standards and even a touch of Nirvana.
Needless to say, it worked perfectly, and this is an act that is
ideal for the corporate market, but with their mix of material from
Vivaldi to the Verve, there is no place where they could not work."
The Stage & Television Today - January 2006
"We
have just returned from our honeymoon and we wanted to say a massive
thank you to the guys and girls in the string quartet. I was
particularly touched when Paul presented the musical score of When
Doves Cry by Prince to myself. I will keep it in my wedding memory
box forever. I just wish we knew such talent so we could listen to
it again."
Wedding of Nicky &
Justin Morris - December 2005
"Wow! What can
I say apart from thank you so much for playing at our wedding? You
were absolutely amazing and we could not have chosen anyone better
to play for us. It truly was breathtaking when I heard the first
bars of Pachelbel as I entered the church. That was my favourite
part of the day and it is all thanks to you ... all our family and
friends said how wonderful you all were and that the choices of
music played were brilliant.
One thing I do
remember is my brother and I singing and dancing on the terrace
while you were playing I Heard It on the Grapevine. . you made our
day even more of a fairytale for us and we cannot thank you enough -
you really were amazing."
Wedding of Carly & Oliver Evans - August 2004
"The Horsham Music Circle promised us a string quartet with a
difference on Saturday evening and that is what we got! In the first
half of the concert the Schubert Quartettsatz held a true
Schubertian mood throughout (not easy with so much fast playing
involved).
Borodin's
popular Quartet No 2 delighted the audience. After the interval we
were given 'The 20th Century in Popular Song'...foot-tapping
renditions...brought to an end with Queen's Bohemian
Rhapsody...first-class musicians gave us an evening of great
pleasure and diversity."
