DANIELLE HARPIST

Danielle Harpist
BACK TO LISTING

With a wealth of experience of playing at events of the highest calibre behind her, Danielle is one of the most popular harpists for special events. She has played for most members of the Royal Family, including the Queen and Prince Philip and Prince Charles, and for four Prime Ministers. She has played at venues such as the nation’s leading museums and galleries as well as stately homes and palaces but also performs at private parties in homes and marquees.

Her repertoire includes everything you would think playable on the harp and plenty that you would think could not be! This includes the more obvious categories such as light classical music, music from shows and musicals and traditional music, but also popular and jazz music from the 20th and 21st centuries including contemporary artists.

Styles can be upbeat or soothing, and Danielle is always happy to match the music to the style which you wish to set for your event. This attention to detail also extends to dress and choice of instrument: In addition to the modern concert harp, Danielle has a number of different harps from different periods to choose from, extending from the late 18th century through to a brightly coloured modern electric ‘celtic’ harp and Danielle will endeavour to match her outfit to your colour scheme or theme. As well as solo and duo music with flute, Danielle also performs with flute and oboe or viola or cello together, multiple harps, violin, voice, horn or clarinet.

On the concert platform, Danielle is one of this country's most sought after harpists both as a soloist and chamber music player and she has won various major awards Many new compositions have been written for her by eminent composers and her recordings have received great critical acclaim.

Danielle taught harp and musicianship at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music for many years. As well as examining internationally for Trinity College, London, Danielle devises the harp syllabuses and has produced books of harp technique and repertoire.

Many of Danielle reviews, compositions, arrangements & articles have been published. She has performed and been broadcast around the world and, as a soloist and duo partner, has performed a great deal in Australia , New Zealand, USA, Japan, France, Austria, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Czech Republic, Ireland, Greece and many more.

It has been calculated Danielle's full repertoire played 24/7 would take about a month to complete!
